MEET THE ARTIST

 

 

Jordi Sterett hails from Santa Ana, California, but she currently resides in Chicago while pursing her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Visual Media Arts. 

 

She considers her strengths to be composition and color. This stems from two years of experience as her high school's Gallery 500 and Alexandra Nechita Center for the Arts curator and the art director of its annual art and literary magazine, King Author. She enjoys rearranging projects in order to balance space, colors, and values differently. She prides herself on being able to “theme” pieces rather clearly through subject matter, tools, or color.

In 2019, she was nominated for the esteemed "OC Artist of the Year" award and was published in the Orange County Register as such. That May, she completely her capstone projects for her high school's Visual Media Arts Academy and Humanities Academy respectively. She also exhibited her sustained investigation for the AP Studio Art class alongside several works by Alexandra Nechita and was named "Media Artist of Year" for her graduating class.
